Denver Exhibit

Imperfect Pixels will be on display now through Closing Reception on September 17th, 2021

Interested in supporting Imperfect Pixels?

We are still seeking sponsorships for continuing the Denver exhibition and future cities.

Portraits of lost potential

When a member of the Black community is killed, the narrative of who that person was becomes distorted. With Imperfect Pixels, Travis Sheridan is inviting you to take a closer look at the lost potential of future leaders, doctors, politicians, fathers, friends, advocates, and teachers.

Additionally, the exhibit turns the focus from individual flaws to considering a broken system. Rather than focus on the flaws reported in the media, these are the portraits of a student, a son, a mother, a minister, an activist, a friend, or a jogger.

Capacity Building

In an effort to focus attention, deepen connections and build capacity, Imperfect Pixels has been designed as an interactive art exhibition, an educational series, and a way to raise funds for local organizations working to address racial equity and social justice.

In Denver, we identified three organizations:

Venue Sponsor

RISE Collaborative Workspace is serving as the venue sponsor for Imperfect Pixels Denver. The work will be on exhibit during work hours 8am-5pm, Monday - Friday this summer through September 17, 2021. We are still looking for the next location and sponsors for Imperfect Pixels and Art & Series so feel free to reach out to us directly.

The whole point of Imperfect Pixels is to continue to build capacity wherever the exhibit goes. Since RISE has graciously helped host as a location sponsor, we hope to help diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. To learn more about sponsoring BIPOC RISE Memberships, please contact CEO Stacy@risecollaborative.com or review the Add-Ons section of the tickets for the Closing Reception.

Social Impact

As an artist and community designer, Travis Sheridan has focused on creating environments that stimulate thinking, engagement, and capacity building. Just as many have invested in his success personally and professionally, he hopes this exhibit will continue to pay it forward in each city it visits.

Art & Series

Imperfect Pixels is meant to drive conversation, because conversation drives understanding, and understanding can drive change. The goal is to look at art as it intersects with other disciplines and sectors. To deepen connections, I facilitate three Art & sessions with local experts over the course of the exhibition: Art & Justice, Art & Policy, Art & Economy. These leaders will discuss the art of business and the business of art, the growth of personal wealth with the local economy, and the ways Denver addresses racial equity and social justice.
