Art & Politics: The Power of Leadership

The third and final event of our summer Art & Series on August 19th at RISE Collaborative Workspace touched on some radical truths that are often left unspoken in the public arena.

Founder of Race2Dinner Regina Jackson and Director of Public Affairs, Mayor’s Office Gloria Prioleau-Neal raised some important points.

Many thanks to Blanchard Family Wines for bartending this event. Your support as an ally is much appreciated.

Next Up: Closing Reception

Our final event is a big push to support local organizations making an impact in the Denver Metro area. Friendly reminder that at least 25% of the proceeds of art sales can be designated to one of the partner organizations of Imperfect Pixels: Black Business Initiative, Second Chance Center, and Voices on Canvas.

Space is limited, so make sure you RSVP

Here are a couple quotes that resonated with me the most from the event:

White people have got to stop equating their “feelings,” with the pain and suffering of BIPOC.
— Regina Jackson
White people have got to stop equating their “feelings,” with the pain and suffering of BIPOC.
— Gloria Prioleau

There is still time to see the art on display at RISE Collaborative Workspace prior to the Closing Reception on Friday, September 17th.

Bring the Stories Home

People have asked about ways to add some of the Imperfect Pixels pieces to their own collection. You can purchase either an original work or one of the extremely limited edition prints HERE. All pieces include a glass orb. When you make an purchase of any piece of art, you can direct 20% of the proceeds to one of three local organizations doing work related to racial equity and social justice:

Buy art. Make an impact. Build capacity. Share the stories.
